It seems that this is almost certainly a bad feature to\nhave.\n\nMore generally, it seems that your package does not have the right\nconceptual organization with respect to the index. (The lack of the\nword index in the guided tour document provides strong evidence of\nthis.)\n\nGit is in many ways much more powerful than other version control\nsystems, but much of this power comes from having a more complicated\nconceptual framework (in particular, it has the concept of the index,\nwhich seems to be fairly unique to git). In designing an Emacs UI for\ngit that can support all of its functionality, the same conceptual\norganization must be used as git itself has.\n\n-- \nJeremy Maitin-Shepard\n"},{"id":"73512","messageId":"87fxu5z861.fsf@grepfind.mwolson.org","threadId":"12840","inReplyTo":"1206363318.8927.28.camel@prosummer","subject":"Re: Yet another \"emacs-git\" mode on emacs","fromName":"Michael Olson","fromEmail":"mwolson@gnu.org","sentAt":"2008-04-01T19:28:38Z","receivedAt":"2008-04-01T19:28:38Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"mwolson@gnu.org","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/1510193?v=4"},"body":"tsgatesv <tsgatesv@gmail.com> writes:\n\n> Make git mode for Emacs full featured git GUI, and not only commit\n> tool, following ideas of PCL-CVS... and its limitation.
