As a result I don't know if this version is good or \nbad as far as the bug I'm trying to track down is concerned. I would \nthink of a number of situations where one bug could interfere with the \ntesting of another.\n\nMy proposal is to add an \"unsure\" option to git-bisect.\n\nI'm thinking that when you say \"git bisect unsure\" it would simply \nshift one commit earlier or later and refrain from ever checking out \none marked unsure until there were only \"unsure\" ones left at which \npoint it would add a disclaimer when you called bad or good and throw \nup it's hands in frustration if you were to say \"unsure\" again.\n\n-Kate\n"},{"id":"72462","messageId":"7vod9az00w.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"12770","inReplyTo":"CE6D7D80-DC0F-4840-8B95-7482EE0E71A3@gmail.com","subject":"Re: [RFC] git-bisect unsure","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2008-03-20T00:55:59Z","receivedAt":"2008-03-20T00:55:59Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"\"Rhodes, Kate\" <masukomi@gmail.com> writes:\n\n> My proposal is to add an \"unsure\" option to git-bisect.\n>\n> I'm thinking that when you say \"git bisect unsure\" it would simply\n> shift one commit earlier or later and refrain from ever checking out\n> one marked unsure until there were only \"unsure\" ones left at which\n> point it would add a disclaimer when you called bad or good and throw\n> up it's hands in frustration if you were to say \"unsure\" again.\n\nPatches welcome.\n\n^L\n\nBut if this is what you are trying to say:\n\n 6ca8b97 (Bisect: add \"skip\" to the short usage string., 2007-10-29)\n\nyou are about 4.5 months late ;-).\n"},{"id":"72495","messageId":"200803200851.41466.chriscool@tuxfamily.org","threadId":"12770","inReplyTo":"7vod9az00w.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","subject":"Re: [RFC] git-bisect unsure","fromName":"Christian Couder","fromEmail":"chriscool@tuxfamily.org","sentAt":"2008-03-20T07:51:41Z","receivedAt":"2008-03-20T07:51:41Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"christian.couder@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/208954?v=4"},"body":"Le jeudi 20 mars 2008, Junio C Hamano a écrit :\n> \"Rhodes, Kate\" <masukomi@gmail.com> writes:\n> > My proposal is to add an \"unsure\" option to git-bisect.\n> >\n> > I'm thinking that when you say \"git bisect unsure\" it would simply\n> > shift one commit earlier or later and refrain from ever checking out\n> > one marked unsure until there were only \"unsure\" ones left at which\n> > point it would add a disclaimer when you called bad or good and throw\n> > up it's hands in frustration if you were to say \"unsure\" again.\n>\n> Patches welcome.\n>\n> ^L\n>\n> But if this is what you are trying to say:\n>\n> 6ca8b97 (Bisect: add \"skip\" to the short usage string., 2007-10-29)\n>\n> you are about 4.5 months late ;-).\n\nYeah, it seems that \"bisect skip\" should do the job.\n\nThanks,\nChristian.\n"},{"id":"72516","messageId":"1206025116.5488.15.camel@ld0161-tx32","threadId":"12770","inReplyTo":"7vod9az00w.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","subject":"Re: [RFC] git-bisect unsure","fromName":"Jon Loeliger","fromEmail":"jdl@freescale.com","sentAt":"2008-03-20T14:58:36Z","receivedAt":"2008-03-20T14:58:36Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jdl@jdl.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/75ce9a10b151acd2c28ec4ab2136dba7b2ff1634530bd04b155981a749d08a64?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"On Wed, 2008-03-19 at 19:55, Junio C Hamano wrote:\n\n> But if this is what you are trying to say:\n> \n> 6ca8b97 (Bisect: add \"skip\" to the short usage string., 2007-10-29)\n> \n> you are about 4.5 months late ;-).\n\nHeh.
