In particular, 1-3 are tests that work\nunexceptionally with the current implementation, and point out\npotential bugs in a C version (which I've fixed); 4-7 are changes and\nadditions that should be pretty uncontraversial, which later code will\nneed; 8 is a potentially more contraversial library feature.\n\n9 gives API access to init-db, and may or may not be ready, although I\nthink it looks promising now; 10 builds in clone and probably needs\nmore work; and 11 adds support for figuring out what the user means\nwith a bundle and should probably get squashed into 10.\n\n(Unrelated note: it might actually be good to use some sort of log\ninstead of shortlog in --cover-letter, at least as an option, in order\nto list the contents of the series with the patch numbers and order\nthey have)\n\nDaniel Barkalow (8):\n      Test that --reference actually suppresses fetching referenced objects\n      Mark the list of refs to fetch as const\n      Add a library function to add an alternate to the alternates file\n      Add a function to set a non-default work tree\n      Have a constant extern refspec for \"--tags\"\n      Allow for having for_each_ref() list some refs that aren't local\n      Provide API access to init_db()\n      Build in clone\n\nJohan Herland (2):\n      Add test for cloning with \"--reference\" repo being a subset of source repo\n      Add a test for another combination of --reference\n\nJohannes Schindelin (1):\n      Support bundles in builtin-clone\n\n Makefile                      |    2 +-\n builtin-clone.c               |  553 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++\n builtin-fetch.c               |   10 +-\n builtin-init-db.c             |  183 +++++++-------\n builtin.h                     |    1 +\n cache.h                       |    6 +\n contrib/examples/git-clone.sh |  518 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++\n environment.c                 |    6 +\n git-clone.sh                  |  518 --------------------------------------\n git.c                         |    1 +\n refs.c                        |   18 ++\n refs.h                        |    9 +\n remote.c                      |    9 +\n remote.h                      |    2 +\n sha1_file.c                   |   19 ++\n t/t5700-clone-reference.sh    |   35 +++-\n transport.c                   |   16 +-\n transport.h                   |    4 +-\n 18 files changed, 1283 insertions(+), 627 deletions(-)\n create mode 100644 builtin-clone.c\n create mode 100755 contrib/examples/git-clone.sh\n delete mode 100755 git-clone.sh\n"},{"id":"71469","messageId":"alpine.LSU.1.00.0803090014310.3975@racer.site","threadId":"12584","inReplyTo":"alpine.LNX.1.00.0803081803250.19665@iabervon.org","subject":"Re: [PATCH 00/11] Build in clone","fromName":"Johannes Schindelin","fromEmail":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","sentAt":"2008-03-08T23:15:35Z","receivedAt":"2008-03-08T23:15:35Z","isPatch":true,"sender":{"key":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/127790?v=4"},"body":"Hi,\n\nOn Sat, 8 Mar 2008, Daniel Barkalow wrote:\n\n> and 11 adds support for figuring out what the user means with a bundle \n> and should probably get squashed into 10.\n\nYes, it should be squashed into 10, methinks.\n\n\n>  contrib/examples/git-clone.sh |  518 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++\n>  git-clone.sh                  |  518 --------------------------------------\n\nI thought I squashed that bug?\n\nCiao,\nDscho\n\n"},{"id":"71471","messageId":"alpine.LNX.1.00.0803081817500.19665@iabervon.org","threadId":"12584","inReplyTo":"alpine.LSU.1.00.0803090014310.3975@racer.site","subject":"Re: [PATCH 00/11] Build in clone","fromName":"Daniel Barkalow","fromEmail":"barkalow@iabervon.org","sentAt":"2008-03-08T23:20:10Z","receivedAt":"2008-03-08T23:20:10Z","isPatch":true,"sender":{"key":"barkalow@iabervon.org","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/55364219?v=4"},"body":"On Sun, 9 Mar 2008, Johannes Schindelin wrote:\n\n> Hi,\n> \n> On Sat, 8 Mar 2008, Daniel Barkalow wrote:\n> \n> > and 11 adds support for figuring out what the user means with a bundle \n> > and should probably get squashed into 10.\n> \n> Yes, it should be squashed into 10, methinks.\n> \n> \n> >  contrib/examples/git-clone.sh |  518 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++\n> >  git-clone.sh                  |  518 --------------------------------------\n> \n> I thought I squashed that bug?\n\nI haven't updated my installed version, and didn't notice until I'd \nwritten the blurb.\n\n\t-Daniel\n*This .sig left intentionally blank*\n"},{"id":"71491","messageId":"7v4pbgsbr5.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"12584","inReplyTo":"alpine.LNX.1.00.0803081803250.19665@iabervon.org","subject":"Re: [PATCH 00/11] Build in clone","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2008-03-09T05:32:46Z","receivedAt":"2008-03-09T05:32:46Z","isPatch":true,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Daniel Barkalow <barkalow@iabervon.org> writes:\n\n> (Unrelated note: it might actually be good to use some sort of log\n> instead of shortlog in --cover-letter, at least as an option, in order\n> to list the contents of the series with the patch numbers and order\n> they have)\n\nCertainly, I think that is a good idea.\n"}]}
