Newer versions than what you are trying to build\nshould be automatically detecting if msgfmt isn't available and\nfalling back to that work-somewhat-alike version. gitgui-0.9.2,\nwhich ships with git 1.5.4, does have that fallback.\n\n-- \nShawn.\n"},{"id":"67761","messageId":"F1020256-19B0-4B86-A9D8-79E36A058A23@vicaya.com","threadId":"11932","inReplyTo":"E9380AA8-2E38-4733-9940-FFD51BB84700@maisniemi.net","subject":"Re: Compiling Git in Mac OS X Leopard","fromName":"Luke Lu","fromEmail":"git@vicaya.com","sentAt":"2008-02-07T07:32:20Z","receivedAt":"2008-02-07T07:32:20Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"git@vicaya.com","avatar":null},"body":"On Feb 6, 2008, at 11:09 PM, Sami Maisniemi wrote:\n> Hi,\n>\n> I tried to compile Git in Mac OS X Leopard, because I was unable to \n> find any precompiled binaries.
