I have had problems but those were resolved by my upgrading to\nthe most recent version of git (who'd have thought Ubuntu would not\nhave a version newer than 1.5.2.5?) Let me give you the terminal\noutput, the best explanation I have of my problem:\n\n$ git push upload --force --all -v\nPushing to http://git.dsource.org/projects/pineapple/\nGetting pack list\nFetching remote heads...\n  refs/\n  refs/heads/\n   refs/tags/\nupdating 'refs/heads/master'\n  from 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000\n  to   aae4714c3d1150974612a9de2f86223dd6882b3c\n    sending 11 objects\n    done\nMKCOL 65f829e3b46d363c07ff4e534bb1a39a6660fa48 failed, aborting (22/403)\n     sent ce937eb2f7092823f0a491fdf0ab449440eb5365\nUpdating remote server info\n    sent 367d34569b5d5223db05770d093e23bcc1c0ba89\n    sent c431db074337adc100edbe4be861f599b0d889ad\n    sent 65016e7e3c0d7654d6745b7de6d6a0840dd39150\n\nIn spite of the obvious problem, the 403 error, the user which I used\nto push to the remote server is in the apache group on that server.\nThe apache group is both the owner and group of all of the files and\ndirectories in the git repository. Thus, I see no reason why it is\ngetting a 403 error.\n\nI am pretty sure the MKCOL has something to do with the fact that\nthere is a directory in my local git repository which it doesn't seem\nto be able to create in the remote repository.\n\nI was told to run git-fsck but it doesn't complain when I do run it.\n\nDoes anyone have any ideas?\n\nPeace, Alan\n\n-- \nMy blog: lifelover.blogetery.com\nMy old blog: cocoalatte.info\n\n// Things I've said -------------------------\n\"Maturity resides in the mind.\"\n \"Silence is the Universe's greatest gift.\"\n\"When the World realizes that personal beliefs are not something to\nargue or fight over, it shall evolve.\"\n"},{"id":"67213","messageId":"20080203143101.GB7946@glandium.org","threadId":"11852","inReplyTo":"eae1aef50802030539l14287c7exa914696755e7ade4@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: MKCOL fails, 403 error","fromName":"Mike Hommey","fromEmail":"mh@glandium.org","sentAt":"2008-02-03T14:31:01Z","receivedAt":"2008-02-03T14:31:01Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"mh@glandium.org","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/1038527?v=4"},"body":"On Sun, Feb 03, 2008 at 08:39:04AM -0500, Alan Smith wrote:\n> Hello everyone,\n> \n> I am assisting the admin of dsource.org to get git working on their\n> server. That might help you understand why the MKCOL fails.\n\nMike\n"}]}
