So guard around this\n bug in SVN and make a best effort to create symlinks if the\n \"link \" prefix is missing.\n \n More information on this SVN bug is described here:\n http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2692\n \n To be pedantic, there is still a corner case that neither we nor\n SVN can handle: If somebody made a link using a broken SVN\n client where \"link \" is the first part of its path, e.g.\n \"link sausage\", then we'd end up having a symlink which points\n to \"sausage\" because we incorrectly stripped the \"link \".\n Hopefully this hasn't happened in practice, but if it has,\n it's not our fault SVN is broken :)\n \n Thanks to Benoit Sigoure and Sverre Johansen for reporting\n and feedback.\n \n Signed-off-by: Eric Wong <normalperson@yhbt.net>\n\ncommit ad94802a7bc599ade73ec0b04c61b2f80b3c1b23\nAuthor: Eric Wong <normalperson@yhbt.net>\nDate: Sat Dec 15 19:08:22 2007 -0800\n\n git-svn: avoid leaving leftover committer/author info in rebase\n \n We set the 6 environment variables for controlling\n committer/author email/name/time for every commit.\n \n We do this in the parent process to be passed to\n git-commit-tree, because open3() doesn't afford us the control\n of doing it only in the child process. This means we leave them\n hanging around in the main process until the next revision comes\n around and all 6 environment variables are overwridden again.\n \n Unfortunately, for the last commit, leaving them hanging around\n means the git-rebase invocation will pick it up, rewriting the\n rebased commit with incorrect author information. This should fix\n it.\n \n Signed-off-by: Eric Wong <normalperson@yhbt.net>\n---\n\n-- \nEric Wong\n"},{"id":"63734","messageId":"7vfxxzvxcu.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"11345","inReplyTo":"20071219084853.GB17787@muzzle","subject":"Re: git-svn fix for broken symlinks","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2007-12-19T09:37:37Z","receivedAt":"2007-12-19T09:37:37Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Thanks.
