I had them as one which\nin MacOSX 10.4.10 showed as 1.88gig and think that this may be the\nproblem, but don't know why since my searches show that git should\nhandle files up to 2gig.  If I am wrong and there is a lesser limit,  \nthen\nI apologize.\n\nI have this directory, rmwHtmlOld, saved as a tarball and can recreate\nthe above as needed.\n\nI apologize if I am doing something wrong that I am not aware of.\nI use git for several different projects and have no problem with them.\nI would appreciate any help that you can provide. The conclusion was that either the gcc version or zlib \nversion on MacOSX was bad and updating them fixed it. I will look into installing a new\nzlib.\n\nI moved the two large files into their own repository\nand then both repositories worked correctly.
