I've got a set of tags\n(created by git-svnimport):\n\n  $ git tag -l release-4*\n  release-4-0-0tp1\n  release-4-0-0tp2\n  release-4-0-0tp3\n  release-4-0-0tp4\n\nbut when I \"git-clone samba-svnimport tags-test\"\", one tag\nis missing.\n\n  $ git tag -l release-4*\n  release-4-0-0tp2\n  release-4-0-0tp3\n  release-4-0-0tp4\n\nRunning git-clone -l works as expected (i.e. the tp1 tag appears\nin the clone).\n\nHere's some more info about the tag in the original svnimport\nrepo:\n\n$ ls -l .git/refs/tags/\ntotal 0\n\n$ grep release-4 .git/packed-refs\n2fbd67786af06b8f5184048d997b660cbd80cbc4 refs/tags/release-4-0-0tp1\na786f423d6dee793418e8c6591f9b962c0fa96bc refs/tags/release-4-0-0tp2\n1fea21bffc836a28e3e86e930d3d9fca85590ae6 refs/tags/release-4-0-0tp3\nc58417a9934d3c1f04becb542a9fb6334a07f19d refs/tags/release-4-0-0tp4\n\n$ for h in `grep release-4 .git/packed-refs | awk '{print $1}'`; \\\n  do git-cat-file -t $h; done\ntag\ntag\ntag\ntag\n\nAny suggestions on how to debug this?   Am I just misunderstanding\nsomething about tags?\n\n\n\n\ncheers, jerry\n=====================================================================\nSamba                                    ------- http://www.samba.org\nCenteris                         -----------  http://www.centeris.com\n\"What man is a man who does not make the world better?\"      --Balian\n-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----\nVersion: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (Darwin)\nComment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org\n\niD8DBQFHCSQvIR7qMdg1EfYRAhOIAKDpefcPqyVhPfxTazJhtd/QrmzM8QCgyyQc\ne0Br/1PngGmQlGNkME+tY7c=\n=+PIn\n-----END PGP SIGNATURE-----\n"},{"id":"55079","messageId":"47092C6F.7070108@samba.org","threadId":"10179","inReplyTo":"4709242F.7070004@samba.org","subject":"Re: Missing tags from git-clone, but not git-clone -l ?","fromName":"Gerald (Jerry) Carter","fromEmail":"jerry@samba.org","sentAt":"2007-10-07T18:58:55Z","receivedAt":"2007-10-07T18:58:55Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jerry@samba.org","avatar":null},"body":"-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----\nHash: SHA1\n\nGerald (Jerry) Carter wrote:\n\n> I'm really a but stumped on this one. I did get confused.  And I now understand what happened.\ngit-clone works correctly.  What I did was \"git-remote add svn\n/.../path\" followed by a \"git-fetch svn\".  Looks like that\none tag was not directly reachable in the history.  Running\n\"git-fetch -t svn\" gave me the missing tags.\n\nSorry for the noise.\n\n\n\n\ncheers, jerry\n=====================================================================\nSamba                                    ------- http://www.samba.org\nCenteris                         -----------  http://www.centeris.com\n\"What man is a man who does not make the world better?\"      --Balian\n-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----\nVersion: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (Darwin)\nComment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org\n\niD8DBQFHCSxvIR7qMdg1EfYRAldVAJ4ns/X3JDrBnTft6JDEL5e8Tv80agCgvb59\n/odKKLNtH2E1zB83pHg3Qdc=\n=KkBD\n-----END PGP SIGNATURE-----\n"}]}
