If I build the most recent \nproduction git (git-1.5.3.2) from the tarball from the git website, I \nget a corrupt copy of Linus's kernel repository (git://git.kernel.org/ \npub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git) when I try to clone \nit. Specifically, my copy is missing several files, including ./ \ninclude/linux/netfilter/xt_CONNMARK.h. The involved files seem to be:\n\ninclude/linux/netfilter/xt_CONNMARK.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter/xt_DSCP.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter/xt_MARK.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter/xt_TCPMSS.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv4/ipt_CONNMARK.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv4/ipt_DSCP.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv4/ipt_ECN.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv4/ipt_MARK.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv4/ipt_TCPMSS.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv4/ipt_TOS.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv4/ipt_TTL.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv6/ip6t_HL.h\ninclude/linux/netfilter_ipv6/ip6t_MARK.h\nnet/ipv4/netfilter/ipt_ECN.c\nnet/ipv4/netfilter/ipt_TOS.c\nnet/ipv4/netfilter/ipt_TTL.c\nnet/ipv6/netfilter/ip6t_HL.c\nnet/netfilter/xt_CONNMARK.c\nnet/netfilter/xt_DSCP.c\nnet/netfilter/xt_MARK.c\nnet/netfilter/xt_TCPMSS.c\n\nI first noticed this corruption around August 14, 2007, when it \nseemed to be in the head of the clone of Linus's repository. I was \nable to make it go away by committing the HEAD. I was just starting \nwith git, and figured I got some incomplete copy because Linus was in \nthe middle of something. Now I cannot find any commits for \nxt_CONNMARK.h or xt_connmark.h since 2006, especially around August \n14, but that might be my naivete.\n\nIf I clone Linus's repository to a x86 machine, I get no corruption.\n\nMy wild ass guess is that being big-endian is causing trouble.\n\n-- Perry\n"},{"id":"54657","messageId":"20071003052834.GC13738@fattire.cabal.ca","threadId":"10124","inReplyTo":"82638874-6766-4DCD-BF5B-3893F9B5046F@cs.indiana.edu","subject":"Re: Clone corruption to G4 MacOSX","fromName":"Kyle McMartin","fromEmail":"kyle@mcmartin.ca","sentAt":"2007-10-03T05:28:34Z","receivedAt":"2007-10-03T05:28:34Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"kyle@mcmartin.ca","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/25944564a544d96f427f89979e04107a70e5e70bddde2d0b095c9ea63a434fc9?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"On Tue, Oct 02, 2007 at 09:29:07PM -0700, Perry Wagle wrote:\n> If I clone Linus's repository to a x86 machine, I get no corruption.\n> \n> My wild ass guess is that being big-endian is causing trouble.\n> \n\nThe problem is MacOSX uses a case-insensitive filesystem by default...\n\nCheers,\n\tKyle\n"},{"id":"54660","messageId":"7v3awshhvi.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"10124","inReplyTo":"82638874-6766-4DCD-BF5B-3893F9B5046F@cs.indiana.edu","subject":"Re: Clone corruption to G4 MacOSX","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2007-10-03T05:44:33Z","receivedAt":"2007-10-03T05:44:33Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Perry Wagle <wagle@cs.indiana.edu> writes:\n\n> include/linux/netfilter/xt_CONNMARK.h.
